SOMERBY is an active retirement village as it’s billed and there are LIBERTY COTTAGES. SOMERBY is to our left, which is a retirement center with medical care as needed and a dining facility, so that’s a nice set up if you need more care, much like assisted living. Next are LIBERTY COTTAGES. These are pretty nice, built, obviously, as a retirement neighborhood and most were built recently, so if you want new construction in an area that caters to 55+ graphic, then LIBERTY COTTAGES inside of PARK WEST would be a good place to consider. I will say that these houses are pretty expensive. They are in the $500K range that I think is fairly expensive. The finish level is pretty good. You’ve got granite in the kitchen countertops and hardwood floors and so, very nice. They have hardi-plank siding or brick. Upkeep is covered by the regime, so your HOA fees are similar to what you would pay for a condo and they are responsible for yard upkeep. It’s a 55+ community set up that some people like and there isn’t a lot of this type of community in Mt. Pleasant. Actually, this is it. You can go out to Summerville if you are looking for more retirement communities. You have a lot of amenities around you here at LIBERTY COTTAGES; restaurants, schools. You can get to downtown Charleston in about 30 minutes, but honestly you don’t need to get to downtown now that there are very nice restaurants and grocery stores right outside the gate, and inside the gates, as well, that would cover your daily needs. There is a hospital; Roper Hospital is out here. A couple of hospital facilities are within 5 minutes.
Liberty Cottages at Park West is a community for adults aged 55 or better, located in beautiful Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
