Midtown is a small new neighborhood of 20 homes by John Wieland. Close to the beaches of Isle of Palms and great shopping and restaurants at Towne Centre, Midtown features two-story homes where the buyer can help design their own living space with various flexible plans. Pricing begins in the mid-$600K’s. Located at 1388 Founders Way, off of Rifle Range Road, there is easy access for commuters to I-526. The builder, John Wieland, has provided floor plans from some of its top selling collections, with traditional and Low Country inspired designs. Award winning schools zoned for Midtown are Mamie Whitesides for elementary school students (conveniently located just down Rifle Range), Laing Middle, and Wando High.
Hey Guys, Bob Brennaman and I’m back with you again today covering some more ASK BOB questions. This one came in here recently over the summer and we are going to talk about Midtown in Mt. Pleasant. Midtown’s a development that is going into basically, central Mt. Pleasant. It is located off of Midtown Avenue, ironically enough and Rifle Range Road, so Rifle Range Road and Midtown Avenue come together. John Wieland is the builder. We’ve covered John Wieland in the past. I’m a fan if Wieland. I think they do a really good product for the dollar. Again and I always throw this in here. You need a buyer’s agent who is going on site with you or when it comes time for the contract or you get serious about things, you definitely want somebody who’s representing your best interests. You don’t want the site agent who works for the builder representing you. Let’s talk about some quick stats. There are about 5 different styles of homes that are being built inside of Midtown. And square footage ranges are anywhere from about 2,800 to 3,300 or so. Price ranges, $600-$750k, not a small price point for sure. The things that I like about Midtown…it is my favorite spot for new construction that I would personally buy back there. It’s an awesome spot for you to get in and out of Mt. Pleasant. You’ve got easy access to I-526, easy access to I-17. You can take Rifle Range Road and go north or south. South, you’re heading toward Sullivan’s Island, North, you’re going towards Isle of Palms, so an awesome location. That’s why I personally like it so much. I think the long term for this area is going to be solid. You’ve got good schools, you’ve got a brand new grade school at the end of the street, so the kids could potentially walk to school, if you have kids. And you could bike into the Towne Centre or a short car ride for dinner, for movies, for shopping…it’s just all right there within maybe a mile or so from Midtown. The things that I don’t like about Midtown: smaller lots, probably, maybe 1/10 or 1/15 of an acre so not very big. Lack of neighborhood amenities is one thing that I don’t like about Midtown is, no pool, no tennis, really not a whole lot of anything other than the houses. Another thing I don’t like about Midtown is I don’t like all the apartment buildings that Linda Page, who is the former mayor of Mt. Pleasant green lighted. They’re nice, they’re high end and I know what they’re trying to do. They’re trying to create an urban feel in the middle part of Mt. Pleasant, so I think its going to work but I had to pick some things I didn’t like and that’s one of the things I don’t like is the apartments. I don’t think that that will affect necessarily the long term resale of Midtown. So that’s a wrap. If you want to stay in touch with us, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
