When you drive into the Commonwealth subdivision, you will feel as if you are in the country although you are only minutes from the Oakland Plantation shops and just down the street from Wando High School. Homes reside on larger lots and select properties back up to Alston Creek which flows into the Wando River. The subdivision has a play park, boat ramp, picnic/playground area, tennis court, and private dock for homeowners enjoyment.
All right, so down from Alston Point is Commonwealth, Commonwealth is a community of approximately 80 homes, developed in the 1980’s. Again, it has that ‘in the country’ type feel that some people like. Some people think it’s a little remote. Home prices range back here from probably high $400k’s at the shooting of this video, to the $700-$800k, depending on the lot orientation. Some of these bigger houses are 2,000 to about 4,000 square feet. It’s pretty secluded back here.
