Mt. Pleasant Traffic Relief

Mt Pleasant, SC has a new addition: Hungry Neck Boulevard will be completed soon and open to the public. This $4.7 million project has been delayed due to bad summer weather. The road is anticipated to be open to traffic by early November.

The new two-lane road will link the Isle of Palms Connector and Six Mile Road. It will have a median along with pedestrian walkways on both sides of the road. The roadway will be a much-needed relief to the already busy US 17.

he boardwalk will extend 1100 feet down the hummock island and will be filled with educational exhibits that highlight native plants and animals that park visitors may see on their visit. Additionally, there will be an observation tower that will enhance the superb view of the area.
