Property at the Foot of the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant Up for Redevelopment
By admin | February 2, 2008
At least four development groups are interested in more than 100 acres near the base of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge where the Grace Chapel Christian Center sits. This site was originally the home of Quincy’s Steakhouse. The Grace Chapel property sold back in 2006 for $1.97 million to Robert L. Clement III and L. Robert Demoura.
Several developers are looking at the 100 acre site for construction of either a hotel and/or condominiums. The current building height limit for Mt. Pleasant is 50 feet but planners are considering raising the height to 80 feet. The Planning Commission will consider the raising the height limit and then the plans can be finalized.
Also at the foot of the bridge a 22-acre Memorial Waterfront Park is under construction. The park is expected to open in 2009.
